A Relaxing Trip To Macau

Beautiful Macau

Traveling has always been one of the things most people aspire to do. I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to travel whenever I want to. I’ve been meaning to take the journey to Macau for a long time now. Somehow, I never got around to doing that. A few weeks back I realized that I had a few spare days on my hand and decided to make the journey. Macau sounded exciting!

It didn’t take me long to get my visa in order. I already knew what I wanted to do there. There was so much to do. I spent my flight mentally planning the entire journey. As soon as my flight landed, I ushered myself in the direction of the cabs. I had found out the way through the airport. Using other people’s experiences is a great way to ensure that you don’t make the same mistakes that they have made in the past.

Macau RuinsI started off with the ruins of St Paul’s. These ruins are also known as the Sam Ba Sing Tzik. They lie adjacent to the Macau museum and the world famous Mount fortress. Needless to say that since I was in their proximity, I had to visit those two ruins too.Macau Map The Fisherman’s Wharf was one of the top items on my to-do list. Those of you who know me will know that I never ever leave any of my lists incomplete. The Fisherman’s Wharf certainly did not disappoint me.

The 15th Century Tianhou temple also deserved a visit. Many of you will give the name a second glance. That is because it is more popularly known as the A-Ma temple. The A- Ma temple is the oldest temple in Macau and is said to be more than 500 years old. Legend has it that the Goddess A-Ma is the protector of sailors. The Maritime museum that stands near the A-Ma temple also attracted my attention. Luckily for me, I was able to cover both the landmarks easily!

I managed to fit the Macau tower and the Golden lotus square into my itinerary too. The journey was hectic and yet it was productive. I never get tired of seeing different aspects of different cultures. Macau is steeped in amazing heritage. The multitude of different kinds of people living in the city, adds to the city’s diversity.

I one of the most famous aspects of Macau are their multitude of casinos. My hands were itching to try my luck but my feet ached from all the walking. I decided to take things easy and rest in my hotel. It has been a while since I have been to a casino, so I thought I would do a bit of research on the internet. Macau_Penha_HillWhile I was browsing through some of the famous casinos in the area, I found Netbet. Now I generally would not gauge myself as an online casino type of guy. But this site sure was adictive, from the ‘reel spinner’ online slots to the blackjack. Netbet leaves nothing off of the table, and will keep you happily occupied for hours.  Netbet is an online casino, with a huge selection of games.  You didn’t have to physically go to a casino to have some fun. After this discovery, I found myself wandering through the city in the day and relaxing in the hotel room at night. After all, with some amazing room service, it isn’t a wonder that I felt extremely pampered. It also helped revive my energy levels, and make a bit of extra cash on the side!
