Going abroad is something that a lot of people do for long periods of time.  It can be a fun time to explore the world around you and discover yourself as a person.  When you set out and explore the planet it can be one of the best things you can do for yourself in order to evolve as a human.

When you step outside of your comfort zone and explore new places and things you are more worldly and open to different experiences. In order to be able to stay abroad for even longer, many people make the decision to find a job while they are overseas.  Not sure about what you might be able to do if you don’t speak the language perfectly? Here are some ideas for jobs to find on your travels to make some extra cash.

Construction

Working on construction is something that is a great transferable skill no matter where you are.  Since you don’t necessarily need to have the language down perfectly, it is a great job for a hands on a profession that pays the bills.

Try looking around for odd jobs or even consider joining a job agency.  You may be surprised to find that there is a lot of work out there for you.  Since it’s usually contract work it makes a great job for making some extra cash until you get the job done, then you are under no obligation to continue.  You can move on freely to the next destination of your choice.

If you are spending time in a place where a lot of tourists go that speak English, a bartending job is a great way to make some serious cash.  Tourists love being able to go to a bar and speak some English if the destination you are in is not an English speaking country.

Since Americans usually tip generously you can be sure that you will not only go home every night with a salary but also some cash in hand.  This can come in handy on your travels when you are using a lot of cash and don’t necessarily want to use your card all of the time.

TeachingTeaching English

No matter where you go in the world someone is always going to want to learn English.  Since it is considered the universal language currently, it is something that is in high demand to learn.  Being a native speaker puts you at an extra advantage, particularly if you are in a third world country where there are less native speakers around to compete with.

Generally speaking, if you are in Europe and there are a lot of English speakers to choose from, you may find it harder to find a job if you don’t have your English teaching certification.
